GuidesFor ScoutersKarma system deep dive
Karma is your onchain reputation as a scouter. It is a single score, recorded on the blockchain, that captures how much the community trusts your judgment — and it is the engine behind your rank, your voting eligibility, and your fee discounts.
There is no separate balance to top up and no claim queue to manage. Your score moves the moment you act: it rises when you contribute value and falls when a lot you backed is cancelled. This deep dive walks through how karma is earned, how it maps to ranks, and what each rank unlocks.
A single onchain score
Every scouter has exactly one karma score, stored onchain. That number does two jobs at once: it is your reputation, and it is the input that determines your rank. Because it lives on the blockchain, the score is transparent and tamper-proof — the same value powers your profile badge, your voting eligibility, and the discount schedule applied to your fees.
How you earn and lose karma
Karma changes are driven by concrete onchain events. Each change records a reason and a signed score delta, so your history reads as a clear ledger of what happened and why.
- Creator reward — You earn karma when a lot you created is approved and progresses through the auction, rewarding scouters who bring quality talent to the market.
- Voter reward — When you vote on a lot in community voting and your vote aligns with the final outcome, you receive an immediate reward.
- Purchase — Karma can be acquired directly through a purchase, giving newer scouters a way to bootstrap their standing.
- Authority mint — Platform authority can mint karma to an account, for example to bootstrap seeded or partner scouters.
- Lot cancel — If a lot is cancelled, the associated karma is reversed, keeping the score honest about outcomes that never completed.
Ranks and score thresholds
Your rank is derived from your score — you never set it manually. As your score crosses each threshold, your rank updates automatically.
- EXILE (0): The starting point. Exiles must complete the activation flow before they can participate fully.
- ROOKIE (1 – 4): Your first foothold. You are on the board and building toward voting eligibility.
- ARCHER (5 – 24): Voting unlocks here. Archers can take part in community voting on lots.
- HAWKEYE (25 – 49): An established, trusted scouter with stronger discounts and standing.
- DEADSHOT (50+): The top tier — maximum trust, the best rank-based discounts, and full voting access.
What ranks unlock
Activation (EXILE): While you are an Exile, an activation flow gates full participation. Completing it is your first milestone.
Voting (ARCHER and above): Once your score reaches the Archer threshold, community voting unlocks. Voting both shapes which lots reach auction and is itself a way to earn more karma.
Discounts (all ranks): Each rank maps to a fee discount drawn from a schedule stored onchain. The scouting-wallet karma tab shows the full discount schedule for every rank, so you can always see what the next rank is worth.
Tracking your karma
Two surfaces in your scouting wallet keep you informed. The karma tab shows your current score, your rank badge, and the onchain discount schedule table for every rank. The karma history shows score deltas alongside the immediate reward and penalty events that produced them — there is no separate balance view or claim queue to reconcile.
